    National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) was established by the UGC in September 1994 at Bangalore for evaluating the performance of the Universities and Colleges in the Country.

    The NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION COUNCIL (NAAC) conducts assessment and accreditation of Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) such as colleges, universities or other recognised institutions to derive an understanding of the ‘Quality Status’ of the institution. NAAC evaluates the institutions for its conformance to the standards of quality in terms of its performance related to the educational processes and outcomes, curriculum coverage, teaching-learning processes, faculty, research, infrastructure, learning resources, organisation, governance, financial well being and student services.

    • To arrange for periodic assessment and accreditation of institutions of higher education or units thereof, or specific academic programmes or projects;
    • To stimulate the academic environment for promotion of quality of teaching-learning and research in higher education institutions;
    • To encourage self-evaluation, accountability, autonomy and innovations in higher education;
    • To undertake quality-related research studies, consultancy and training programmes, and
    • To collaborate with other stakeholders of higher education for quality evaluation, promotion and sustenance.

    NAAC grades institutes on an eight-grade points and their meaning:

    ≤ 1.50 D Not Accredited

     

     

    NAAC grade system is very robust and  honest which covers all the dimensions of an Institute. Its very good for world ranking system. If any institute is willing for world ranking then its advisable that first go for NAAC accreditation. A number of benefits are given to NAAC accredited institution in the country.

    The process of online evaluation and off line visit is very transparent and cooperative. NAAC advisors are always ready for help in case of any doubt or difficulty.

     

    Around 375 universities , 6200 + colleges and 260 autonomous colleges are NAAC accredited at present. All are very well happy and satisfied with the accreditation system and its process.
